Kingston – Double Feature

If you follow We Used That, you may have seen my previous review on Kingston’s latest line of Solid State Harddrives. Earlier this year, Kingston unveiled a whole slew of new products at CES 2013 in Las Vegas. When they offered me the chance check out their latest line of Computer RAM and USB Thumbdrives, I could not resist. Let me say, both their DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 Thumbdrives and their Hyper X Ram are some of the best out there.

Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 USB Thumbdrives

USB Thumbdrives have come a long way in recent years. I remember having one back in the day that only held 64 megabytes of data. Today, Kingston’s DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 USB Drives can store upto 64 gigabytes. That’s quite the difference. Making these drives even sweeter, they use USB 3.0. This allows you to transfer large files in a very short amount of time. Even when using it an older computer with older USB ports, these drives are fast. I was able to transfer a 3 gigabyte file in about two minutes. That is faster than it would take to burn a DVD or transfer the data to a harddrive. With its large capacity, you can make sure you have all the files you need for when you’re on the go. If you are someone that doesn’t do a lot of computing and don’t have that many files, but always wanted a way to back up your data, these thumbdrives may be a good option for you. They have no moving parts and take up very little space making them a great way to back up and store sensitive data. These things are also built to last. Unlike other thumbdrives, which can be made from plastic and other materials, DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 drives are encased in a strong, durable metal. These drives are built to last and prove that you can pack a whole lot of data into a small space. DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 drives come in two sizes 32 and 64 gigabytes.

If that’s not enough space for you, Kingston’s HyperX Predator USB thumbdrives come in 512 gigabyte and 1 terabyte sizes. Now that’s HUGE!

Kingston HyperX RAM Kits

Speaking of Kingston’s line of HyperX products, their HyperX RAM also sets the standard for PC RAM. Celebrating 10 years of helping people get the most out of their computer, Kingston released a 10th Anniversary Edition of its HyperX RAM Kits. Available in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB packs, these RAM kits are great. Whether you are a casual user, who browses the internet and shops online; or if you’re a hardcore gamer or use your computer for video of audio editing, Kingston has got you covered. Using the latest in RAM technology, you know your computer will be responsive no matter what you throw at it.

This latest incarnation of Kingston’s HyperX RAM is perfect for those looking to upgrade the performance of their computer, have an overall smoother running computer, or if they are just looking to do some simple modifications.

If you want pimp your PC, you’ll need to make sure you have a computer that can handle DDR3 RAM, as these will not fit into your older DDR2 slots.
